Blog: Getting my first real Kart
It was a big day I’ll never forget:
On December 10, 2023, I got my very first real racing kart — just for me! 🏎️✨
It wasn’t brand new, but it was fast, loud, and super cool. We made a few changes so it would fit me perfectly, and that’s when my real karting adventure began.
We lowered the steering wheel a little, raised the seat a bit, and moved the pedals closer. Since the pedals are now above the steering bar, we built footrests so I can rest my feet while driving. That makes it easier for me to press the gas and the brake (although I don’t really like using the brake… 😅).
My First Crash (It wasn’t my fault!) 😇💥
Guess what? My very first crash happened during my very first ride in the kart!
I was driving with some friends when one of the dads tried to pass me — but he turned too quickly and hit me! I slid into the side barrier, my kart flew up, and I scraped along a metal wall until a big concrete post stopped me. It bounced me back onto the track where I finally stopped.
I was wearing a chest and back protector (it’s actually made for dirt biking), so luckily I only had a tiny bit of belly pain. But the protector isn’t very comfy when you sit in a kart!
After that crash, I didn’t feel like driving anymore that day.

My Second Crash 😬🔁
Some time later, I had another crash — this time all by myself. I didn’t turn properly and crashed into a stack of tires. My kart flew up, flipped over, and I fell out. The kart even landed on my leg! 😱
I was really scared for a moment, but after about 20 minutes of resting, I got back into the kart and finished my lap. 💪
That’s when my dad decided to limit the kart’s speed to around 40 km/h until I get more experience. Probably a smart move, right?
Getting Better Every Week 🏁✨
Now it’s been over four months without any crashes! I’m driving more carefully, learning more, and feeling super confident. That’s why we’re slowly removing the speed limit — so I can go faster again and improve my lap times.
I love racing with my dad, but what I enjoy even more is driving with other kids in groups. It’s fun to try new things and race against others — it helps me get better and faster every time.
This is only the beginning — and I’m ready for the next race!
